About the Is It Down Right Now?

When a site won't open, the problem can be on your side (Wi-Fi, DNS cache, a blocked network) or on the site's side (DNS failure, server down, application errors, expired certificate).

Nuqti tests from outside your network in three layers — DNS answers from three providers, a TCP connection to the server, and loading the home page (retrying up to 3 times) — then tells you whether it's up, slow, blocked, erroring or down, and which layer failed.

Frequently asked questions

The site is up here but not for me — why?

Try clearing your DNS cache, another browser, mobile data instead of Wi-Fi, or a different DNS (1.1.1.1). Your network or ISP may block it.

What does 'blocked' mean?

The server answered 403/429 — it's online but refuses automated checks (bot protection). It may still work in a normal browser.

What does 'DNS failure' mean?

No DNS server returns an address for the domain: expired domain, wrong nameservers or deleted records.

Can Nuqti alert me when my site goes down?
