About the H1 & Heading Structure Checker

Headings are the outline of a page. A clear H1 that states the topic, followed by H2 sections and H3 sub-points, helps readers scan, helps screen readers navigate and helps search engines and AI understand the structure.

Nuqti maps every H1–H6 as an indented tree, counts each level and flags common problems: no H1, several H1s, jumps like H2 → H4, empty headings and headings that are too long.

Frequently asked questions

Can a page have more than one H1?

HTML allows it and Google copes, but one clear H1 is still the cleanest structure.

Should the H1 match the title tag?

They should share the main topic and keyword, but they don't have to be identical.

Is skipping heading levels bad?

Jumping from H2 to H4 confuses screen readers and the outline. Use levels in order.

Do headings affect SEO?

They help Google understand the page sections and can be shown as jump links and featured snippets.
