About the SPF Record Checker

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is a TXT record listing the servers allowed to send email for your domain. Inbox providers like Gmail and Outlook check it; a missing or broken SPF sends your mail to spam — or lets scammers send as you.

Frequently asked questions

What is the SPF 10-lookup limit?

Receivers stop after 10 DNS lookups (include, a, mx, ptr, exists, redirect). Above 10, SPF returns 'permerror' and your mail may fail authentication. Remove unused includes or flatten them.

Should I use -all or ~all?

~all (soft fail) is the safe default while you set up DMARC. -all (hard fail) is stricter. Never use +all — it allows anyone.

Can I have two SPF records?

No. Two v=spf1 records = permerror. Merge them into one record.

Is SPF enough to stop spoofing?

No — combine SPF with DKIM and a DMARC policy. Check them with Nuqti's DKIM and DMARC checkers.
